Employee of the Month programs are a common establishment for American businesses. The programs are seen as both a motivation tool and a way to publicly recognize outstanding achievement from team members.

This mindset, however, disregards the fact that the memory of praise do not last forever in the mind of an employee.
If you answer no to any of the above questions it is likely time to reflect on how you can change your management style to positively influence retention.
The key to motivating employees, no matter the generation, over the longer term is to create a recognition culture where non financial incentives are part of the ongoing strategy for employee engagement.
We do not believe in employee recognition, rewards, awards, well done, keep it up, kudos, and thank you. If that would have been the values of an organization, would you like to work for them even if they pay you handsomely well? Will you still continue even if your manager tells you “why should I recognize or thank you?”
The key to communicating about our rewards program is to use multiple platforms or media to communicate the same message. I would advise you to communicate the same message three to six times.
Motivate Today’s Employees With Recognition
Are you wondering how to motivate your employees? Do you fear that today’s employees are sometimes un-motivate-able?

While it’s never a good idea to just hand out employee recognition awards for even the smallest accomplishments, you should have a policy in place for showing appreciation to the workers who make the biggest difference in the office. Doing so takes very little time and is well worth the effort.
